Going On Twentyfive Years Baby!

So I must be honest, I’ve been a bit nervous about this birthday. I feel like 25 is the mark of “ok you’re officially an adult now, get your life together.” At 23 you’re still young, figuring things out, fresh on the career scene and then 25, bam your expected to be more mature and have things figured out.

Saying Goodbye To Summer & Hello Fall!

Man, I can’t believe how fast summer has flown by! With the welcoming of cooler air, pumpkin spice indulgences, boots, scarves and nights spent around the fire, I can honestly say that I’m excited for the fall season to arrive. Summer was crazy busy with everything from starting a new job to moving into our first home, I haven’t had a chance to stop and take in everything.

A Trip To Carmel

After a six and a half hour drive from the warmth of Orange County, we roll up, a little past 9 p.m, to a quaint Bavarian themed hotel, named the Hofsas House. We are immediately greeted by a kind woman who is eager to check us in, for we’re the last arrivals of the night. We unload the car and make our way to our room. The air is cool and crisp, filled with the smell of salt and sweet flowers.
Carmel allowed our cares to melt away and steered our focus to the other’s wants, needs and dreams. Our biggest worry being where to find another bottle of wine at midnight. Join us as we sip and taste our way through this very special town!

Learning To Cherish The Slow Days

It’s nice to cherish the slow days in a world of busy. I’m a firm believer in lounge around days. They are sorely underrated.
As much as I love going out on the weekends, whether it’s to take a trip to the movies, go for a hike, host a dinner party or attend a comedy show, sometimes I long for a day (or two) with no planned schedule. Those are the days that can turn into anything.

Dealing With Turnover

Turnover is a harsh reality in the work place. Nobody enjoys it, employees and employers alike. However, it’s inevitable. When the people you have grown close to and see on a daily basis, start dropping like flies, it’s hard not to stop and take a look at yourself to think: is this the right place for me?
There are several signs to look for and evaluate for yourself, if it’s time to search for new opportunities.

Dreaming In The Trees

As a child, one of my favorite things to do was to wake up each morning, run outside and spend the entire day up in the trees. Each night I’d pack my Winnie the pooh backpack with a book, a journal and snacks. (What can I say, I was organized as a child.) No matter where we lived, I always gravitated to these safe havens.

My Story: Living With An Eating Disorder

I’m a good person, I matter, I’m surrounded by people who love me, my life is worth living. I recite these statements to myself, per my therapist’s recommendations, whenever I feel self-conscious or scared. I wish I was a confident, independent woman who knew what she wanted and who loved her body. But I’m not, and I don’t know if I will ever be that woman.
While I’ve started down the path to recovery, it’s a tough road. The path is much harder than I ever realized.
