Profile: Rachel Bernstein

Science Writer

I am a Ph.D.-trained science writer passionate about making science accessible to broad audiences and exploring scientific research culture.
I am currently a staff writer at Science Careers, a publication of Science magazine and AAAS.
As a freelancer, I write about all areas of science for a variety of venues, including the BioBuilder Educational Foundation, Visionlearning, and news outlets. I also provide writing and editing support for grant applications and other technical documents.
In all my work I balance clear explanation of complex topics with engaging structure and narrative to maximize communication effectiveness and employ quantitative and qualitative data analysis to tell compelling stories and offer creative solutions.
