Her research focuses on youth learning in informal spaces, specializing in information literacy and connected learning, and how those skills, if valued in academic settings, can create a more equitable education system. Her current research examines using interest as a way to engage youth in coding, as well as developing coding programs which can be facilitated by non-experts coders to increase the reach and equity of the program.
